NEOSHO, Mo. - Freshman center Skye Rees scored 22 points to lead the 25th-ranked Northeastern A&M Lady Norse to a 69-64 victory Thursday night over Crowder Community College in Roughrider gymnasium.

With the victory, coach Jim Rowland's Lady Norse are 13-4 on the season while the Lady Riders slide to 3-13 on the year.

The Lady Norse resume play against the Bi-State West on Saturday with a 1 p.m. rematch with Murray State College in Tishomingo.

Against teams from the West, the Lady Norse have a 4-2 record.

Twelve days ago the Lady Norse cruised to an 87-40 victory over the Murray State Lady Aggies in Miami.

“We were very lethargic in the first half against Crowder,” Rowland said. “It took us about 30 minutes to get untracked offensively and we didn't play very solid defense all night.”

Receiving eight points each from Tara Massey, Afton Baldwin, Julie Cupps and Blaire Larson, along with a putback by Melanie Bowers, the Lady Riders constructed a 34-28 halftime lead.

Along with the 22-point production from Rees, the Lady Norse received 16 points from veteran point-guard Misty Haley. Denise Rosario added 9, Nolisha Markham and Tasha Hedgecorth had eight each, Autumn Thompson scored four points and Megan Fraley had two.

Massey led the Lady Riders with 18 points, followed by Larson with 15, Cupps 13 and Baldwin 10.
