While concluding a three-game homestand Monday, Northeastern A&M’s Lady Norse start play in the Eastern Division of the Bi-State Athletic Conference by hosting the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings.

Tipoff time is 6 p.m. in the Student Activity Center.

With a four-game winning streak in tact, coach Jim Rowland’s Lady Norse are 16-4 on the season. The Lady Norse defeated the Western State College Lady Pioneers 72-47 last Wednesday in the SAC.

Last season the Lady Norse finished second in the Bi-State East with a 6-2 record.

Longtime head coach Jeff Tadtman has led the Carl Albert Lady Vikings to an 11-8 season record.

The Lady Vikings dropped a 65-40 decision to 23rd-ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Enid last Thursday in Enid.

Tadtman guided the Lady Vikings to third place in the Bi-State East last season with a 4-4 record. Carl Albert finished 14-17 overall.

Against the Lady Vikings last year, the Lady Norse swept the two-game series.

Whitney Conerly scored 18 points to lead NEO to a 56-44 win in Poteau. Jolea Apon led Carl Albert with 10 points.

Returning to Miami, the Lady Norse cruised to an 83-41 victory behind 20 points by Autumn Thompson. Apon led the Lady Vikings with nine points.

Expected to comprise the Lady Norse backcourt are sophomore Misty Haley ((5-6 of Oktaha) and freshman Megan Fraley (5-6 of Adair).

Haley is averaging 10.6 points with 34 assists and 17 steals. Fraley has a 12.5 scoring mark with a team-leading 46 assists and 32 steals.

Apon (5-9 of Springdale, Ark.) and freshman Erin Wright (5-7 of Fort Smith, Ark.) will start in the backcourt for the Lady Vikings.

Apon leads the team with a 17.9 scoring average while recording 59 assists and 39 steals. Wright has an 11.3 scoring mark with 42 assists and 13 steals.

Thompson (5-6 of Glenpool) and freshman Nolisha Markham (5-10 of Tulsa) will start on the perimeter for NEO.Thompson is averaging 4.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while Markham leads NEO with a 7.7 rebounding mark and is scoring 11.9 points per game

Starting at forwards for the Lady Vikings will be sophomore Sheila Nave (5-10 of Choteau) and freshman Brittany Banks (5-9 of Rowlett, Texas).Nave has an 11.8 scoring mark and a 3.7 rebounding average while Banks is scoring 10.7 points and 4.2 rebounds each game.

Freshman Skye Rees (6-2 of Melbourne, Australia) will start in the paint for the Lady Norse.Rees is averaging 11.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Veteran Romy Calderon (6-0 of Den-Helder, Netherlands) will anchor the center position for Carl Albert.

Calderon has a 9.4 scoring average and a 3.6 rebounding mark.
