Sophomore forward Rose Anderson sank a 3-point shot at the buzzer Monday night in the Northeastern A&M Student Activities Center to provide 22nd-ranked Northern Oklahoma College-Enid with a 69-67 victory over the 31st-rated Lady Norse.
Anderson (5-10 from Edinburgh, Scotland) took an inbound pass from Kelsey Shepherd with 2.3 seconds and the Lady Jets trailing by a 67-66 score.
After two dribbles brought Anderson into the front court, she let fly the shot as the buzzer sounded.
The ball bounced off the backboard and through the net to snatch the victory away from the4 Lady Norse.
“I should have had someone pressuring the ball,” Lady Norse head coach Jim Rowland said. “But, she got off one of those shots that either goes in or doesn't and unfortunately (for us) it went.”
Snapping a six-game winning streak and handing the Lady Norse their first loss in the SAC, NEO is 12-4 on the season and 4-2 against the Bi-State West.
Coach Scott Morris' Lady Jets complete the season series sweep and are 14-4 on the season and 3-4 against the Bi-State East.
The Lady Norse travel to Neosho, Mo., Thursday for a 7 p.m. rematch with Crowder Community College before visiting Murray State College next Saturday for a 1 p.m. rematch at Tishomingo.
“I was proud of the heart and determination our girls showed tonight,” Rowland said. “Twice they found a way to overcome large deficits and put themselves in position to win.”
During the first 10 minutes of the opening half, the Lady Jets constructed a 24-11 margin. Nine points by Anna Brzozowski and two 3-point field goals by Kelsey Shepherd, along with six points by Anderson and a 3-pointer by Krista Bullis, ignited the Lady Jets outburst.
Four points inside the paint by Brzozowski and a 3-pointer by Shepherd increased NOC-Enid's lead to 31-15 with 6:39 left in the first half.

“You can't get down 18 in the first half at home and expect to come back,” Rowland said. “We were a little flat on the offensive end the entire first half.”
Four points each by Autumn Thompson and Denise Rosario along with two free throws by Megan Fraley rallied NEO to a 44-31 deficit at intermission.
Outscoring the Lady Jets by a 14-1 margin in the first eight minutes of the second half rallied the Lady Norse to a 45-45 tie. Four points each by Fraley, Thompson and Rosario, along with a layup by Skye Rees, fueled the NEO comeback.

“We used solid defense over the next five minutes to comeback again,” Rowland said. “This time we even took the lead.”
Four points each by Rees and Fraley along with a 3-pointer by Thompson and a putback by Rosario propelled the Lady Norse to a 62-61 lead with 1:36 remaining on the clock.
