COWETA - Eight of Miami's 12 wrestlers placed during the Coweta Tournament.

Jon Smith and Jed Gibson were second at 125 and 152, respectively.

Others placing for the Dogs were Blaine Fields, third at 135; Tim Hall, fourth at 103; Victor Strena, fifth at 215, and Bryson Williams, Brandon Harkins and Jimmy Brock, sixth at 119, 160 and heavyweight.

“I was really proud of the kids,” Miami coach Justin Gibson said. “Coweta is a really tough tournament.”

The Wardogs finished sixth among 14 teams with 118.5 points. Broken Arrow wound up first while Grove was second and Coweta third.

“Both of the guys that beat Jon and Jed were named the outstanding wrestlers for the tournament,” Justin Gibson said.

Miami travels to Gentry, Ark., Thursday for a double-dual with Gentry and Bentonville, Ark.
