BLUEJACKET - South Coffeyville coasted to a pair of non-conference basketball wins against Bluejacket here Tuesday night.

The visitors claimed a 58-23 decision in the girls' game, then rolled 68-19 in the boys' contest.

The South Coffeyville girls jumped out to a 26-3 lead in the first quarter then rolled into the break with a 37-8 lead.

The Lady Lions held a 16-6 edge in the third quarter.

Bluejacket held a 9-5 advantage over the final eight minutes.

Ashley Brown scored 14 points while Lacey Turney and Kaci Wilson added 13 each.

Hali Swiatkowski paced Bluejacket with seven points.

In the boys' game, the Lions broke out to a 28-6 lead in the opening quarter. South Coffeyville stretched that to 50-10 by intermission.

The pace slowed in the second half. The visitors held a 16-2 edge in the third period.

Bluejacket outscored the Lions 7-2 in the fourth quarter.

Matt Steele had eight points for the Chieftains. Craig Root added six points.

Coby Stevens poured in 31 points for the Lions.

Bluejacket is idle until Tuesday, when it travels to Wyandotte.
