The wintry blast has move through the area, but the after-effects continue to wreak havoc with sports schedules.
Northeastern A&M's contests at Northern-Enid were to go on tonight as scheduled.
However, Miami's wrestling match here with Inola and Seneca, Mo., and a full slate of basketball games have bit the dust.
High school games postponed include Miami at Wagoner, Vinita at Grove, Bluejacket at Wyandotte, Commerce at Fairland and Welch at Quapaw.
“We haven't even talked Wagoner about it (a make-up date),” Miami boys coach Rusty Mercer said. “We will definitely be in a pickle. But we're not the only ones. You've got to deal with hand dealt to you.”
This marks the third postponement this season for Miami.
A date with Locust Grove that had been delayed by the November storm is to be made up Saturday night at the Northeastern A&M Student Activity Center due to a conflict at the Dogdome.
Friday's Verdigris Valley Conference games against Jay have been reset for Feb. 1.
Homecoming activities now will be held between games Saturday night. The boys' game will be played first, tipping at 6:30 p.m. with the girls' contest following the coronation ceremonies.
“The one thing I anticipate is the kids will like it (a busy stretch run),” Mercer said. “They don't mind playing a number of games in row. They would rather play games than practice anyway.”
On the horizon, Thursday events that could be in jeopardy are Miami's home wrestling dual with Vinita and Fairland-Wyandotte basketball games.
Friday's basketball schedule includes Miami at Pryor, McDonald County, Mo., at Grove, Afton at Bluejacket, Quapaw at Commerce and Fairland at Welch.
Also on Friday, Miami and Grove are scheduled to begin competition in the Coweta Tournament.
