COMMERCE — Commerce limited the White Oak boys to only 13 points while breezing to a 52-13 victory Tuesday.

Commerce also claimed a 45-34 decision in the girls’ clash.

The Tigers, improving to 6-10, jumped out to an 18-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

They rolled into the half with a 30-9 advantage then tossed an 11-0 shutout in the third period.

Commerce created the final score with an 11-4 margin in the last eight minutes of play.

Matt Cook had 14 points and Zach Barnes added 10 points for the Tigers, who had 11 players score.

White Oak, missing two starters, got four points each from Dustin Sherman and Rashad LeFlore.

In the girls’ game, White Oak was up 11-8 after the first quarter, but CHS used a 9-7 edge in the second frame to narrow the gap to 18-17 at the break.

Commerce finally took the lead in the third quarter with an 11-8 advantage then broke the game open in the fourth with a 17-8 burst.

Courtney Watson scored 10 points and Johna Sharp added nine for the Lady Tigers.

Wendy Myers and Cookie LeFlore scored 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Lady Ranchers.

Commerce marks homecoming Friday night against Bluejacket. Coronation will be at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game tipping at 6:30 p.m.
