COMMERCE - Commerce started fast and finished strong as the Lady Tigers held off the rally of the Wyandotte Lady Bears to take a 43-37 Lucky 7 Conference victory here Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers bolted to a 11-2 lead in the first quarter to start the game, but it was the free throw shooting down the stretch that was the difference.

Commerce held off the late charge of the Wyandotte girls with a 7-of-10 effort from the stripe to nail down the win in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Bears closed the first quarter gap with the shooting of Amanda Stovall. Down by nine with just under two minutes to play in the opening frame after a pair of free throw by Commerce's Kourtney Reading, Stovall hit a pair of treys to help cut the CHS lead to 13-8 at the end of the quarter.

Wyandotte used a 12-10 advantage in the second period to trail at the half 23-20 before completing its climb to the lead early in the third quarter.

Stovall opened the period with a trey and Kayla Oleman completed a conventional 3-point play following a Commerce turnover to give the Lady Bears their only lead of the game at 26-23.

But, the Lady Tigers fought back and regained the lead for good after a 9-2 run helped them to a 32-28 lead with just over a minute to play in the period.

In the fourth, Wyandotte tied the game 37-37 at the 1:31 mark after a Abbi Munson bucket, but the Lady Tigers iced the game the rest of the way at the free throw line hitting 6-of-8 led by Lindsey Heatherly's 4-for-4 effort.

Stovall led all scorers on the night with 15, including four 3-point goals. Oleman followed with 11 for the Lady Bears.
