CATOOSA - A goal with about five minutes remaining gave Catoosa a 2-1 victory over Miami in a first-round Class 5A soccer playoff game here Tuesday night.
“Dave (head coach Dave Bates) and I couldn't be more proud of the guys,” assistant coach Mike Barlow said. “The seniors gave us all they had.”
Catoosa's game-winning goal came off a corner kick.
Miami (8-7) had grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of play when Quentin Quiroz scored off a breakaway.
Catoosa tied the score with about five minutes left in the first half.
Goalie Cody Corntassel made a number of great saves in the first 40 minutes. He also had a save on a second-half penalty kick.
“He had some unbelievable saves,” Barlow said. “This was the best we played all year.
