COMMERCE — Two second-half scoring bursts helped the Miami Lady Wardogs glide to an 8-0 soccer win against Commerce here Tuesday, April 9.

It was 3-0 at the break then MHS (7-6) scored again before the game-turning burst.

The Lady Wardogs scored twice in the span of just over three minutes to make it 6-0, then added two more in only 32 seconds to create what turned out to be the final score.

“We had trouble finishing on a lot of chances in the first half, but started finishing better in the second half,” Miami coach Kenton Adams said.

Beca Hopping and Karen Gonzalez scored twice while Abby Ishmael, Jessie Ishmael, Shelby Hubbard and Karley Browning had one each.

“Our possession has looked really good in our last two games,” Adams said.

Eight of CHS’ nine losses have come by shutout and the other was a 9-1 setback against Grove.

“Our girls play hard, but injuries and inexperience continue to hurt us,” Commerce coach John Medlin said.

Miami 5, Pawhuska 2

The Lady Wardogs rolled to a 5-2 win against Pawhuska Monday, April 9 at Red Robertson Field.

Abby Ishmael, Jessie Ishmael, Hopping, Hubbard and Mary Gilbert had goals for Miami.
