WELCH — Welch suffered its seventh straight mercy rule loss with a 47-0 setback against second-ranked Southwest Covenant here Thursday, Oct. 18.

The Wildcats, 0-7 overall and 0-4 in District C-3, managed only 7 yards in total offense, all on the ground and one first down.

They’ve had only one touchdown all season and that was in the season opener at Watts.

According to the Yukon Review, the Patriots generated 246 total yards of offense, including 173 rushing yards and 73 passing yards.

Running back Trevor Kelly had four carries for 50 yards and two touchdowns and receiver Cole Shaw caught two passes for 50 yards and one score.

Trevor Kelly scored on runs of 10 and 30 yards and Tyler Kelly added scoring runs of 14 and 22 yards.

Will Haas added a 1-yard run, then Anthony Cox ended the scoring when he returned a blocked kick for a touchdown.

Welch travels to Bluejacket for the “Battle of the Bell” on Friday, Oct. 26.
