WYANDOTTE — A pair of four-run innings sent Wyandotte on its way to an 11-3 fast pitch victory over Welch in the regular season finale for both Monday, Sept. 24.
The Lady Bears (21-9) face Mounds at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at Howe in a first-round Class 2A regional game.
Welch has been paired with host Red Oak in a Class B regional, which also starts Thursday.
Wyandotte jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning of Monday’s game.
The Lady Bears picked up another two runs in the fourth then scored a final two in the sixth.
Welch scored twice in the fourth and once in the fifth.
The 12-hit Wyandotte attack included a double and two singles by Ally Bartley, a triple and double from Haley Hart, two doubles from Jillian Swonger and a double and single by Kaitlyn Hawkins.
The Lady Bears also got a leadoff home run in the bottom of the fourth inning by Tarrah Stephens, a triple from Makinze Powell and a base hit from Jennelle Lundien.
Reagan Etzel and Olivia Pitcher had two singles each for the Lady Wildcats.
Addison Chenoweth, Hailey Haskell, Halle Rupert and Avery Brannon all had singles.
