KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Turning in one of the biggest weekends in the history of the program, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M went 4-0 in the Kansas City (Kansas) Community College volleyball tournament.

The Lady Norse, ranked 20th in the NJCAA Division II rankings, beat No. 2 Cowley County Community College 3-1 on Friday, Sept. 21, and then topped No. 1 Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College by the same score on Saturday, Sept. 22.

In the other matches in the tournament, NEO (15-7) blanked Iowa Lakes Community College 3-0 on Friday and Neosho County (Kansas) Community College 3-0 Saturday.

The win over Coffeyville snapped a nine-match losing streak against the Lady Ravens.

CCC swept all five matches last season, including the first round of the national tournament in Charleston, West Virginia, went 3-0 in 2016 and squeezed out a 3-2 win late in the 2015 season.

This was NEO’s first win over the Lady Ravens since a 3-0 win here Sept. 28, 2016.


The Lady Norse host Allen County (Kansas) Community College Wednesday Sept. 26, at the Glen Wolfe Student Activity Center.
