FOYIL — A 30-point third quarter helped Foyil breeze to a 52-6 win over Bluejacket in eight-man football action here Friday, Sept. 7.

“Foyil had a massive team and averaged 230 pounds on the line as to where one of my starting lineman is 5-4 and 140 pounds,” Chieftain head coach Lee Bluejacket said. “We were outsized and outmanned and along with a 40 minute halftime due to a light transformer catching fire and knocking out a bank of lights, it was a tough evening.”

Foyil was only up 8-0 and 22-0 through the first two quarters.

The Chieftains got their only touchdown on a run by quarterback Coy McGlasson.

The game ended in the third quarter.

This was the first meeting of the teams since 1975, when the Panthers rolled 48-0.

Foyil has returned to eight-man after a stint in 11-man.

“We lost our leading receiver from last week to a broken collar bone and starting running back to an ankle,” Lee Bluejacket said. “We had several more injuries that lead us to finish the game with eight players.

“Coy did a great job considering he was scrambling every pass play,” Lee Bluejacket said. “We never gave up and the mistakes that were made are from lack of experience, so we will be fine as we mature as a team.”

Bluejacket was limited to 15 yards rushing.

McGlasson was the leading rusher with 8 yards and a touchdown on five carries.

Johnny Estes ran the ball twice for 6 and Keegan Francis and Kadan Tipton each got the call once.

McGlasson was 18 of 40 for 204 yards passing. He was intercepted twice.

Gabe Arrevillagas was on the receiving end of McGlasson’s nine passes, netting 101 yards.

Charles Speigel caught six passes for 76 yards.

Hagen Beasley and Kadan Tipton each had one reception.

Estes posted 12 tackles, including 10 solos, on defense.

Tipton and Arrevillagas had 10 each.

The Chieftains (1-1) travel to South Coffeyville on Friday, Sept. 14.
