FAIRLAND — Fairland and Afton won both of its games in the Fairland Festival here Thursday, Sept 6.

The Lady Owls routed Catoosa 13-0 then topped Jay 7-1.

Afton logged an 8-1 decision against Catoosa and won 8-3 against Jay.

Fairland 13, Catoosa 0

The Lady Owls sent 16 batters to the plate while scoring 12 runs in the first inning.

Jordan Gates had a one-hit shutout in a game that lasted only 2 1/3 innings. She logged four strikeouts and no walks.

Kyndall Davis delivered a two-run triple and Grace Goins added a two-run single.

Morgan Chaney and Gates each drove in a run with a single.

Fairland also got runs on an error, wild pitch, bases-loaded walk and fielder’s choice.

The Lady Owls 13th run came on a single by Kaylee Wilson in the second inning.

Kyndall Davis had a triple and single for Fairland, which also got two singles from Chaney and Scout Mayfield, Gates, Goins and Wilson each had a base hit.

Afton 9, Catoosa 1

Taylie Burrow allowed only one hit against the Lady Indians.

A double by Waddoll was the only hit for Catoosa, which got its only run in the third innings.

Afton got a run in the first then generated five runs in the second and added a final three in the third.

A single by Sidney Huddleston was the only hit for the Lady Eagles, who took advantage of nine walks and two errors by Catoosa.

Afton 8, Jay 3

A five-run first inning set the Lady Eagles on their way.

Afton tacked on two runs in the second and one in the third.

The Lady Bulldogs scored twice in the first and got a final run in the fifth.

Tomi Betz had two singles and Kaylea Roberts and Jordan Noblin added a single each.

Fairland 7, Jay 1

The Lady Owls stretched a 1-0 first inning lead into a 4-0 advantage in the second.

Jay’s only run came in the sixth and Fairland added a final three in its half of the sixth.

Gates had two singles for the Lady Owls, who also got a double from Mayfield and a single each from Davis, Goins, Lilly Triplett and Alexis Boyd.

Jay had four singles in the game, one each from Marsis Foreman, Cayla Williams, Shanae Lawrence and Bailee Bishop.
