MIAMI — Saturday was a good day for the Lucky 7 Conference at the 73rd annual Northeastern Oklahoma A&M High School Basketball Tournament — for the most part.
The Quapaw and Welch girls and Commerce boys captured titles on the final day of the tournament.
Welch won the Girls Blue championship for a second straight year.
The Lady Wildcats posted a 61-51 win against conference rival Wyandotte.
That gave Welch a 2-1 edge in the rivalry this season.
Welch (15-1 and ranked 17th in Class A, logged a 64-60 victory in November, but the Lady Bears (11-3) avenged the loss by winning 59-53 in the finals of the Kenneth Sooter Invitational at Welch.
That was the 16th NEO title for the Lady Wildcats.
Quapaw claimed the Girls Norse crown with a 27-22 decision against Joplin Thomas Jefferson.
Commerce chalked up its first NEO tournament title since 1996 with a 55-50 win over Braggs in the Boys Norse final.
Placing third were the Wyandotte boys and Fairland girls while the Afton boys were fourth.
The Welch and Quapaw boys and Afton and Commerce girls placed fifth, the Bluejacket girls were sixth and Fairland boys seventh.
Results in the other championship games included:

• Boys Blue — Nowata 51, Hulbert 36
• Girls Gold — Edmond North 41, Grove 37
