Edmund J. Yankowski of Cardin died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo. He was 61.
Yankowski was born Oct. 2, 1945, in Auburn, Wash., to Edmund and Louise (Green) Yankowski. He served with the Army reserves and worked for Tracker Marine in Miami. He had lived in the Cardin area all of his life.
He married Mary Ragsdale on Jan. 27, 1966, in Columbus, Kan. She survives, of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Louanne Barrett.
Additional survivors include one son, Ronnie Yankowski of Cardin; one daughter, Lana Ellick and her husband Shawn of Quapaw; four grandchildren, Nathan and Kari Yankowski of Ainsworth, Neb., and Clayton and Billie Ellick of Quapaw, and one brother, Ron Yankowski of St. Louis.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami with the Rev. Bill Richey officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Picher.
