Sylvia Marie Jolley of Miami died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center after an illness. She was 92.

Jolley was born Sept. 8, 1914, in Southwest City, Mo., to Watt and Edna (Gann) Cummiford. She attended schools in Miami.

She was a member of Narcissa Baptist Church and worked for many years as a bookkeeper for various retail businesses. She had served as an election clerk.

Jolley was of Cherokee Indian heritage and enjoyed doing Indian beadwork and Indian crafts.

She married Shelvy Creed “Jake” Jolley on Nov. 22, 1929. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1991.

She as also preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Jolley and Larry Jolley; one sister and a great-granddaughter.

Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Wade of Miami; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Jolley of Miami; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Onos Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Timberhill Cemetery east of Welch.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Palmer, Donny Wells, Donald Dugan, Terry Miller, Jake Whitecrow and Brian Gray.
