Virginia “Ginger” Lea Barrett of rural Wyandotte died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at her home after a battle with cancer. She was 63.

Mrs. Barrett was born May 28, 1944, in Bentonville, Ark., to Birch and Vera M. (Eggbert) Crockett.

She worked at Tysons in Neosho, Mo.

She married Danny Paul Barrett on July 9, 1965. He survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Gena Lea (Miller) Kittrell of Miami and Jana Lynne (Miller) Keune and her husband, Doug, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; one brother, Birch David and his wife Tina; one sister, Martha Amanda Jeschke; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Barbara Jo Potter in 1985, and one grandson.

Her body was donated to Oklahoma University for research for a cancer cure.

A living flower garden will be planted in her memory at the home she shared with her husband.

There will be a gathering of friends and family in her memory beginning at noon Wednesday at the Barrett residence.
