Surrounded by her family on March 26, 2008, she rose to be free with the Lord.
Born in Albuquerque, N.M., on Sept. 14, 1920, to Margarito Ortiz and Agneda Tapia of Ribera, N.M. Moved to California at a young age, meeting her husband, Maxwell “Nooks” Martin, of 61 years and whom has preceded in her death. Also preceding her in death are her mother and father; siblings, John Ortiz, Ernestine May and Margarito Ortiz Jr., and great-grandson, David Anthony Casillas.
Surviving her is her sister, Alice Ortiz Montano; daughters, Agnes Neal and husband Sam of Miami, Okla., and Jane McWilliams and husband Randy of Pecos, N.M.; grandchildren, Diane Herd, Roy Neal, Carol Fields, Rita Gonzales, Theresa Casillas and Randy Rick McWilliams, many many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many more wonderful friends.
As a child, Stella loved to work in the fields with her Daddy, planting corn and stealing candy and bread from her Grandpa Roman’s little store in Ribera. She loved to crochet and probably made blankets and towels for all her family and friends. She always remembered everyone’s special occasions and she always sent out those personalized specialized cards.
She was loved and adorned by all and will be greatly missed! Thank you to “everyone” for their support and prayers!
Tight hugs, Bom, we love you dearly!
