Cecil Ray Evans of Grove died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Grand Lake Villa Care Center in Grove. He was 86.
Evans was born April 18, 1920, at Star City, Ark., to Everett Evans and Frances “Fancy” (Grimmett) Evans.
He had worked as an oiler, a truck driver and was instrumental in the construction of many o f the infrastructure of Bella Vista, Ark.
Evans married Wanda Hogue on March 13, 1965, at Coeur d Alene, Ark. She survives, of the home.
The couple moved to the Grove area nine years ago from Bentonville, Ark.
He was a member of Grand Lake Baptist Church in Grove and enjoyed mechanical work, fishing and piloting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kathy Evans and one brother, Roy Evans.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Peggy Donahue of Seattle, Wash., and Judy Watkins of Hillsboro, Ore.; four stepsons, Ervin Gaffield of Portland, Ore., Terry Gaffield of Fairview, Mont., Richard Gaffield of Gillette, Wyo., and Timothy Gaffield of Helen, Mont.; one sister, Flora Dull of Missoula, Mont.; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
The family suggests donations be made in Evans' honor to the Grand Lake Baptist Church or the National Kidney Foundation in care of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
