Betty Lou Corn of Miami died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at her home after an illness. She was 84.
Mrs. Corn was born April 29, 1923, in Fort Smith, Ark., to John Franklin and Zona Elvira (Mann) Heller. She lived in Miami for 59 years moving from Fort Smith.
She worked in the shipyards in California during World War II. In the 1960s she sold Avon, worked for Glenn Berry's and was a cook for the Miami Public School system.
She was married to Onie K. Corn. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Virginia Sue Climer, and one half brother, Fred Heller.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Larry Rupert of Miami, Nancy Corn, of the home, and Tammie and Mike Dettor of Tulsa; one brother, Charles Heller of Florence, Miss.; two sisters, Wanda Wofford of Tulsa and Clara Maledon of Peoria, Ill.; three grandchildren, Rachelle McCord, Ryan Rupert and Madison Dettor, and two great-grandchildren, Andryah McCord and Kacie Rupert.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. Chaplin Dawin King will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
