Clarice Faye Stewart of Grove died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at her home after a long illness. She was 73.
Steward was born Oct. 17, 1933, in Rose Hill, Iowa, to Dale and Ethel (Cox) Lister. She graduated from high school in Ottumwa, Iowa. She lived in Grove for the last 20 years.
She worked for 13 years as a secretary for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kan. She was involved with bred birds and raised German Shepherds. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove and a past officer of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She married Lyle “Rex” Stewart on Oct. 3, 1951. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Stewart of Grove and Wayne and his wife Marilyn of Purcell, Mo.; one sister, Dorothy Hoyman of Greeley, Colo., and three grandchildren, Sarah, Joseph and David Stewart.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Grove with the Rev. Randall Hamill officiating. A private burial will be held at Olympus Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove.
Memorials are suggested to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
