Maryetta Rachel Buzzard died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at her home in rural Delaware County. She was 93.
Buzzard was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Sarah M. Bennett and Walter M. Grandstaff. She moved to California in 1939, returning to rural Delaware County in 1961. She later lived with her children in Arkansas, Georgia and Kansas.
She was a homemaker. She attended Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Lawrence and the Landmark Free Holiness Church while living in Oklahoma.
She married Franklin F. Buzzard on April 29, 1937. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Leon; her parents and three sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Inez of Lawrence, Kan.; three sons, Daniel and his wife Anna Mae of Tahlequah, David of Claremore and Marvin Wayne of LeCompton, Kan.; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Landmark Free Holiness Church on Highway 28 with Mathew Buzzard and Floyd Parks officiating. Burial will be in Mose Ridge Cemetery in Topsy.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Family Funeral Home in Grove.
