Isaac Newton “I.N.” Johnston of Tulsa died Friday, June 8, 2007, at Resthaven Nursing Center in Tulsa. He was 68.
Mr. Newton was born march 15, 1939, in Welch to Everett Lee and Zelma Irene (McKinzie) Johnston. He was a 1957 graduate of Welch High School.
He worked as a tire builder for B.F. Goodrich for many years before retiring. He loved music and played bass guitar with a traveling country band.
Survivors include his children, Isaac Johnston Jr. of Frisco, Texas, Gerald Johnston of Houston, Sherril Wozniak of Chelsea and Rhonda Woods of Miami; two brothers, Everett Lee Johnston of Welch and Larry Johnston of Miami; two sisters, Lois Charles of Claremore and Judy Covey of Enid, nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch with minister Brad Canham officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Isaac Johnston Jr., Gerald Johnston, Marty Snow, Barry Woods, Jason Charles and Kenny Allman. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Mooneyham.
Interment will be at Welch Cemetery in Welch.
