Emma Kathleen Buening of Seneca, Mo., died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at her home after a long illness. She was 77.
Mrs. Beuning was born July 18, 1929, in Seneca, Mo., to George and Mary Barker. She lived in the Seneca area all of her life.
She was a homemaker.
She was married to Gordon William Buening for 54 years. He preceded her in death April 23, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Riley, and three sisters, Stella Griffith, Jane Lagers and Ruby.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony Riley of Estacada, Ore., and Daniel Buening of Neosho, Mo.; three daughters, Diana Williamson of Seneca, Paula Hemphill of Prineville, Ore., and Anna Peters, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one brother, Ira Barker of Joplin, Mo.; two sisters, Ruth George of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Lois Rink of Joplin, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church, north of Seneca, with the Rev. Fred Mills and the Rev. Ronnie Hemphill officiating. Burial will be in Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery, south of Seneca.
Pallbearers will be Jim Boyer, Mel Ray, Dave Buening, Steve Boyer, Gerald Durbin and Bud Buening. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Buening, Mark Ferguson and Fred Jennings.
The family will be at the family home, south of Seneca on Rowan Drive.
Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home in Seneca.
