Helen Mae Juergens of Tulsa died on Friday, Jan., 11, 2008, She was 83.
Mrs. Juergens was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Cushing to Bill and Rena Mae Kidwell. She and her family lived in several small Oklahoma towns as her father pursued a retail-merchandising career. They settled in Miami, where she graduated from high school in 1942. She married Bill Juergens in Miami in 1946. She worked at B.F. Goodrich for several years. She moved to Akron, Ohio, in the late 1960s, where she worked for American Express, then lived briefly in Florida. She moved to Tulsa in the early 1990s.
She married Robert Hodges in 1993.
Survivors include one son, W. Michael Juergens of Tulsa; one daughter, Tamera Juergens Phenicie of Houston, Texas; one brother, Bill Kidwell of Oklahoma City; one sister, Margie Kidwell Lawrence of Tulsa; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Tulsa with the Rev. Wayne Hardy officiating.
Burial will be in the Ottawa Indian Cemetery near Miami under the direction of Floral Haven Funeral Home of Tulsa.
