Jeanette “Jan” Laverne Hansen of Afton died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Grove Integris Hospital after a short illness. She was 39.

Ms. Hansen was born Dec. 20, 1968, in Los Angels, Calif., to Dale and Alice Todd. She spent the first 12 years of her life in California, lived in Washington for three years then moved back to Bakersfield, Calif., where she graduated from high school in 1987. She later moved to Chickasaw. She received a certified nursing assistant degree. She lived in Oklahoma City, Boley, Vinita and Ketchum before moving to Afton.

She worked in nursing homes. She was a member of the Ketchum 7th Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Alice and Roy Hansen of Kent, Wash.; two sisters, her twin, Sandra Wilson of Bern, Idaho, and Jennie Conyne of Seattle, Wash., and three brothers, James Hansen of Washington, Daniel Hansen of Montana and DeWayne Hansen of California.

She was preceded in death by her father in 2005.

Memorial services were Saturday. Elder Tom White officiated.

Another memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church in Afton. Pastor David Holland will officiate.

A memorial tree on her behalf will be planted in the front yard of her home along with a visiting bench to remember her by.

Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
