Calvin “Omer” Miller of Miami died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Land Mark Hospital, Joplin, Mo. He was 82.
Mr. Miller was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Centralia to Ray and Mary (Bradford) Miller.
He was a World War II veteran of the Army, serving under General Patton in Luxingburg, Germany.
He was an ordained minister and preached at a little church in Centralia from time to time. He was a postal worker for the U.S. Postal Service in Centralia for many years before retiring. He was a member of the VFW of Miami.
He is survived by one brother and his wife, C.B. and Peggy Miller of Bartlesville, and one sister and her husband, Nina and Otis Smith of Miami.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Otis, Sam, Charles, Art, Jimmy and Johnny, and two sisters, Belle and Della.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Thomas Funeral Home in Welch. Pastor Larry Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Centralia Cemetery, south and west of Welch.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
