Evie Pearl DeHart of Miami died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at the Miami Nursing Center.

She was 79.

Mrs. DeHart was born Dec. 16,1928, in Kennedy, Ala., to Bercie D. and Oma Mae (Fleming) Sprinkle. She moved to Miami from Oklahoma City in 1964.

She worked as a surgery tech at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami for 15 years. She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Miami. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Miami and she was also past president of the local chapter, past district president and past state president.

She married Alva Wayne DeHart on Oct. 11, 1977. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2003. She is also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Allan Hamilton of Miami and Tom Owen of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Linda Waldon of Miami; one brother, Robert Sprinkle of Midwest City; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Miami with the Rev. John Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Glen Abbey Cemetery, east of Miami.

Pallbearers will be Adam Reed, John Journagan, Bill Duit, Henry Bell, Allan Reed and Allan Hamilton.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce.
