Lois Charlene (Helms) Griffin, formerly of Grove, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Kechi, Kan., after a battle with cancer. She was 68.
Griffin was born Oct. 10, 1938, in Afton to Charles and Ruby (Johnson) Helms. She worked as a clerk for K&N Energy, LIberal Truck and Bearing Headquarters.
She married Jack Griffin in Tyrone. He preceded her in death. She moved to Kechi in 2006.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Kevin and Tara Koehn of Hooker; two daughters and their husbands, Cindi and Wendell Mills of Hooker and Shally and Steve McCray of kechi; three brothers and their wives, Gail and Nita Helms of Broken Arrow, David and Beverly Helms of Grove, and Max and Debbie Helms of Sarcoxie, Mo.; a sister and her husband, judy and Ernie Merit of Coon Rapids, Iowa, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9., 2007, at Adcock Funeral Home in Afton. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wendell Mills, Steve McCray, Jesse Boring, John Merit, Ernie Merit and Andy Helms.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
