Raymond Duane Tanner of Chouteau died Thursday, May 3, 2007, in Tulsa. He was 64.

Tanner was born Aug. 19, 1942, in Vanport, Ore. He lived his early years in Miami, at a young age he moved to Pryor and lived in the Pryor and Chouteau area since.

He was a mechanic at North Point Ford, retiring in 2000. He also worked for Mayes County District 2 and for the City of Pryor.

He married Joyce Countryman on March 31, 1976, in Bentonville, Ark. She survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include two sons, Randy Buck and wife Elaine of Spavinaw and Larry Buck of Vinita; two daughters, Peggy Carr and husband Jackie of Vinita and Treasa McCarty of Langley; brothers and their wives, Donald and Audrey Tanner of Miami, Joe and Carol Ann Fritz of Salem, Mo., and Randy Tanner of Portland, Ore., nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Tanner; mother, Dessie Hampton; one sister, Tina Tanner; one brother, Steven Tanner, and one great-grandson, Houston.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Stephens Memorial Chapel in Pryor with the Rev. Glenn Lewis and the Rev. Mike King officiating. Burial will be in Ballard Cemetery in Bernice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephens Memorial Chapel.
