Alvin F. Heltzel of Wyandotte died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, in Seneca, Mo. He was 76.
Heltzel was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Vinita to William Francis and Mamie Fern (Finnell) Heltzel. He was a lifelong area resident and was of the Protestant faith.
Heltzel was a veteran of the Army, having served in Korea. He retired from B.F. Goodrich as a tire builder in 1986.
His first wife, Dorothy, preceded him in death in 1973. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Gordon Raymond, Emma Jean, Lantie Elias and Wayne Lee.
He married Ellen Monroe in October of 1980, she survives.
Additional survivors include his children and their spouses, Francis and Bruce Heflin of Whiteface, Texas, Dale and Drucilla Heltzel of Vinita, and Larry, Sharla Heltzel of Miami, and Mike and Dee Monroe of Tulsa; siblings and their spouses, Eva Louise and William Bethel of South Carolina, Annie Elizabeth and Harvey Jones of Chelsea, Charlotte Fern and Robert Mobley of Vinita, Joe Wendell and Laura Ann Heltzel of Vinita, and John and Jackie Heltzel of Chelsea, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Luginbuel Funeral Home with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Vinita.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 pm, Sunday at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
