Ramona Regina (Mona Jean) Erdmann passed away Saturday at the age of 90 in Muskogee.
Mona Jean was born to George and Mary Elizabeth Russell in Wilburton, Oklahoma. A graduate of Picher High School and the University of Oklahoma, she also received a law degree from the same institution in 1941.
She married Reinhold Paar Erdmann in 1948 in Picher, Oklahoma.
Mona Jean was elected and served Ottawa County in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1945 to 1948. She grew up in Picher and lived for many years in Tulsa, but also lived in New York, Canada and Texas.
Mona Jean was an avid bridge player and reader, as well as a committed OU football fan.
She is survived by her son, Paul Erdmann and his wife Brenda of Muskogee; her daughter, Elizabeth Erdmann-Krause and her husband David Krause of Jefferson, Wisconsin; four grandsons, Kyle Erdmann, Ryan Erdmann, Carl Krause and Eric Krause; brother-in-law Ernst (Eleanor) Erdmann of Texas; sister-in-law Clara Louise Ballard of Kansas and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paar, her parents, her brother George Russell and nephew George G. Russell.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 29 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Oklahoma.
