Charles “Ed” Edwin Drumm Sr. died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at Integris Grove General Hospital.

He was 85.

Mr. Drumm was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Garland, Texas, to Samuel and Louella (Coyle) Drumm. He was a longtime resident of Oklahoma.

He was a World War II veteran of the Army, serving as a Tech 5.

He worked as a truck driver in the oilfields and in the pest control business. He was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, VVA, and the Purple Hearts Association.

He was married to Mattie Viola (Stoker) Drumm for 65 years. She survives, of Grove.

Additional survivors include three sons and their wives, Charles E. and Claire Drumm Jr. of Woodbridge, VA., Earl Ray and Jennifer Drumm of Grove and Richard Wayne and Dana Drumm of Chouteau; one brother, Woodrow Drumm of Morgan, Texas, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grove Elks Lodge, located 2 1/2 miles south of Grove.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Family Funeral Home of Grove.
