Geraldine M. “Jerry” Ramsey died May 23, 2007, at her home in Miami after a long illness. She was 72.
She was also known as “Momo” to her children and grandchildren.
Jerry was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Miami to Mack and Virginia Trask.
She was a member of the Miami Country Club and the All Saints' Episcopal Church of Miami. She worked as a club room manager for the El Greco Best Western and then for Miami Elks Lodge for a total of 35 years.
She married William “Bill” Ramsey on May 16, 1949, in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1976.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one daughter-in-law, Deborah Ramsey.
Survivors include one brother, John Trask of Miami; two daughters, Pam Murphy and her husband John of Woodward and Penny Ramsey and Jerry Plake of Miami; three sons, Pat Ramsey, Mike Ramsey and wife Debbie, and Shane Ramsey and wife Melissa, all of Miami; six grandchildren, Michelle, Latisha, Rachel, Kristen, Grayson, and Blane Ramsey, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Miami at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, with the Rev. Ray Clonts officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Coal Creek Cemetery, west of Miami.
Pallbearers will be Pat Ramsey, Mike Ramsey, Shane Ramsey, Tom Pogue, Kenny Eads, Mike Delozier and Mike Blair. Honorary pallbearers will be close friends, Richard “Rip” Repasky, Barbara Williams, Martha Dowell and Reva Wabaunsee.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami.
The family suggests memorials to the Kidney Foundation.
