Linda Ann Bowers of Oklahoma City died Monday, Jan 28, 2008, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was 54.
Ms. Bowers was born July 17, 1943, in Joplin, Mo. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1969 from Miami. She graduated from Miami High School where she was on the honor roll and was a member of the Pep Club and the Miamiettes and a coeditor of the Broadcaster and the annual yearbook. She graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College where she was a member of the Norse Stars and Phi Theta Kappa.
She worked in the Ottawa County Tag Agency and the Miami News-Record. She was a member of the Miami Little Theater. She was a member of the Methodist Church. In Oklahoma City she worked for the Department of Public Safety, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, retiring after 27 years due to health reasons. She also served as secretary and treasurer of Department of Public Safety Federal Credit Union for 10 years.
Survivors include one sister, Lou Bowers of Yorba Linda, Calif., and three nephews and their wives, Mike Spradley, Steve and Naoko Spradley of Newport Beach, Calif., and Will and Lee Ann Neel of San Dimas, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie “L.J.” and Kay (Ford) Bowers; one sister, Marcia Neel; one niece, Linda Neel, and one nephew, John Spradley.
