Everett James George of Grove died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at his home. He was 92.
Mr. George was born June 22, 1916, in Delaware County to William L. and Melissa (Kuykendall) George. He was a life-long Delaware County resident.
He was employed by Sanco Lumber in Miami for a number of years, in addition he was also a self-employed carpenter and farmer for many years. He was a charter member of the Hickory Grove Church of God of the Apostolic Faith, north of Grove.
He married Willie Ernestine George on Dec. 1, 1936, in Fairland. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2001.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Burl George; three sisters; five brothers, his parents and one grandson, Dr. Jay Duffield.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Bob Keene and Marilyn and Jerry Zapponi, all of Grove, and Carol and Randy Cook of McAlester; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Jim Hale will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, north of Grove.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
