Beulah Jewel Bruckner of Miami died at 4:40 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin. She was 90.

Beulah was born Sept. 3, 1916, in Mazie. She moved to Miami as a young child and attended schools in Miami. She was an active participant in the Ottawa County Senior Companion Program. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Miami and its Munoz Sunday School Class. She was an avid bowler.

On July 3, 1934, she married Elwood F. Bruckner. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1989, after 55 years of marriage.

She is also preceded in death by her only child, Elwood P. Bruckner Jr. on Oct. 14, 2002.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Wilma Belliss and her husband Frank of Joplin, Mo., and Paula Armstrong and her husband Bill of Albuquerque, N.M.; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel in Miami with Ronnie L. Epps officiating. Burial will follow in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami. Pallbearers will be Frank Belliss, Justin Smith, Dwight Epps, Roger Rollins, Larry Kelley and Marty Patrick.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home Chapel in Miami.

The family suggests memorials to Community Hospice of Joplin in care of the funeral home.
