Shirley T. Lundy of Vinita died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at her home. She was 93.
Lundy was born Jan. 28, 1914, in Boston, Mass., to John and Elsa (Johnson) Everston.
She worked as a waitress at the Old Hotel in Vinita and as a press operator at Burlington in Miami. She was a charter member of Carter Baptist Church in rural Afton, was on the Craig County Election Board for many years and, along with her husband, was a part of the Gideons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Davenport in December, 1996. She was also preceded in death by one son, Phillipe George Lundy; one daughter, Edeth Gibson-Culver; her parents; one grandson and two great-granddaughters.
Survivors include two sons, Homer J. Lundy of Cleora and Chris Lundy and his wife Donna of rural Afton; five daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Dean Crane of Bernice, Reva and Jim Colvin of Atlanta, Ga., Elsa and Wayne Johnson of rural Afton, Nancy and Mike Newcomb of Cleora and Beath and Charlie Marsh of Afton; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. George Vaughn and the Rev. Terry Wise officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Bates, Wayne Jarvis, Rick Winfrey, Eric Johnson, Kent Gibson, Keith Gibson, Scott Kosciolek, Cory Newcomb, Lance Marsh, Buck Marsh, Paul Speer, James Colvin III, Lee Ford, Scott Matlock, Matt Marsh and Kreg Butler.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita.
