Elwin “PeeWee” Henry of Vinita died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Chetopa Manor, Chetopa, Kan., after an illness.
He was 76.
Mr. Henry was born Aug. 9, 1931, near Cromwell, Okla., to Walter F. and Eva (Robertson) Henry.
He was an heavy equipment operater and mechanic. He was a member of the Welch Baptist Church.
He married Audry Jinks in 1949 in Oklahoma.
Additional survivors include one son and his wife, Randy and Robbie Henry of Bluejacket; one sister, Ruby Cook of Carson City, Nev.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Don and Trish Henry and Andrea and Floyd Buffington, all of Vinita; two great-grandchildren, Seth and Elaine Buffington of Vinita; two step grandchildren and their spouses, Eric and Kara Lucus of Lamar, Mo., and Leslie and Roger Marrs of Siloam Springs, Ark., and six step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Etta Hoops; one brother, Walt Henry, and one step great-grandson.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Bluejacket. The Rev. James Shope will officiate. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery, west of Welch. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Services under the direction of Jim Thomas, Thomas Funeral Home of Welch.
