Stephen James Rickman of Wyandotte died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at his home after an illness. He was 66.
Mr. Rickman was born April 29, 1942, in Picher to Gene Ira and Elva (Shipman) Rickman.
He was employed as a diesel mechanic for Yellow Freight for several years. He was a member of the Teamster's Union.
He was married to Patricia Newberry. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Shannon and Joe Nelson of Fairland, Shellie and Bob Kelley and Sheila Vercruysse, all of Eureka Springs, Ark.; one sister, Shirley Thacker of Seneca, Mo.; three stepdaughters, Debbie Shelton, Jodie Williams and Lisa Brock and her husband Melvin, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Jean, his parents and one brother.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Brown Cemetery in Wyandotte. The Rev. Gary Rhodes will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 147 Funeral Detail.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
