The Miami Area Chamber of Commerce will host the annual “Good Will Tour” to Oklahoma City slated for March 25.

The tour will provide participants an opportunity to meet with state leaders and legislators, discuss concerns and offer thanks for their efforts in representing Oklahoma, Ottawa County and the City of Miami.

The tour will leave for Oklahoma City at 6:00 a.m. from the Miami Area Chamber of Commerce office. The group is expected to leave Oklahoma City at 2:30 p.m.

“The tour will include meetings with the state Chamber of Commerce, Department of Commerce, state Sen. Charles Wyrick, state Rep. Larry Glenn and state Rep. Doug Cox,” said Judee Snodderly, chairman of the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee. “Other legislators and government officials have been asked to join us for lunch including, Lt. Governor Jari Askins and the Speaker of the House.”

Transportation will be provided if needed as designated drivers have been assigned, according to chamber officials.

The cost to attend is $35 per person and includes the cost of lunch.

Reservations to participate in the tour are necessary. Those wanting to attend are asked to contact the chamber office by 5 p.m. Thursday.

Awards dinner reservations due today

As a finalist for the USDA Rural Development and the REI Annual Partnership Award, Miami will be recognized for the success and innovations in increasing economic opportunity and enhancing the quality of life in Miami.

The award will be presented at a celebration dinner to be held at the Reed Center in Midwest City at 6:30 p.m. on the evening of the Good Will Tour.

Tickets are $40 per person.
