A Jay man has been accused of sexually molesting a mentally impaired teenage girl in the home where he was invited to live by her parents.
Bobby Alan Stine, 21, of Jay has been formally charged with three counts of second-degree rape and one count of forcible oral sodomy on Jan. 6 after he admitted to Jay Police Officer Dave Rathbone that he had indeed had inappropriate sexual contact with the 14 year old girl, who family members claim has the mentality of a 9 or 10 year old due to diminished mental capacity.
According to Officer Rathbone’s report filed in district court, the victim reluctantly told a relative that Stine had forced her to have oral sex and sexual relations on Dec. 28 in her home. She said he also forced her to have sex three more times between Dec. 28 and Jan. 1, each time threatening her with bodily harm.
In an interview with Officer Rathbone, Stine admitted that the girl didn’t know what was going on, was intimidated and frightened. Stine told authorities he has a "switch" that switches on inside of him causing him to want sex with children with no sexual preference between male or female and if he is not locked up and given treatment for his obsession, he will continue to sexually abuse children, according to the report filed.
Stine appeared in district court where a $60,000 bond was set. He remains incarcerated in the Delaware County Jail and a return date has been set for Wed., Jan. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
