FAIRLAND - The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation has wrapped up its investigation into missing money from the City of Fairland.
Jessica Brown, a spokeswoman for OSBI, said Friday evening that a report detailing the bureau's findings is being prepared.
“The report will be sent to District Attorney Eddie Wyant for review,” Brown said. “He will determine if any criminal wrong-doing has been committed.”
OSBI has been reviewing the city's financial transactions for approximately six weeks at Wyant's request. Wyant contacted OSBI when it was suspected that money was missing from the city's funds.
Earlier this month Vinita accountant Bill Turner released a 39-page audit. The audit indicated a discrepancy of about $14,000 between docket totals and deposit slips from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007.
OSBI officials will not say what their investigation revealed.
