The annual horse show that typically kicks off the Ottawa County Fair will be held Sunday at the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.

The 4 p.m. event was rescheduled this year and, though still a fair event, precedes the fair by a full week.

Registration for participants is 3 p.m. Sunday at the NEO arena.

A full slate of fair events will follow beginning Aug. 18 with the annual dog show.

On Aug. 20, the indoor exhibits will be displayed and judged at the Ottawa-Peoria Culture Center at the corner of 8 Tribes Trail and Oklahoma Highway 69A. Exhibits should be entered between 7 a.m. and noon, with judging to begin at 1:30 p.m.

The livestock show will begin Aug. 21 with rabbits and poultry. The animals in that class will be judged at 8 a.m. Aug. 22 and will be released at 9 p.m.

The weigh-in for swine is from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 21 with the swine show at 5:30 p.m.

This year's carnival events will be held on the grounds of the Quapaw Casino on Highway 69A.
