The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened a permanent office at 1601 N. Main Street in Miami (formerly the Home Furnishing Gallery). All those who have been impacted by the flood are asked to visit the office.

Housed in the office are representatives of all of the FEMA services as well as representatives of the Small Business Administration, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Internal Revenue Service and the Oklahoma Department of Envirnomental Quality's Oklahoma Flood Response team.

• FEMA on the ground

A 12-member FEMA community relations team is on the ground today.

All representatives are clearly identified as FEMA officials.

They will be knocking on doors and delivering two brochures to assist residents.

Those awaiting a FEMA property assessment are advised that they will be contacted by a FEMA inspector prior to the inspection.

FEMA officials will not ask for Social Security numbers or confidential information.
