Employees of the city parks department will fog for mosquitoes July 30th and 31st.

The 30th, spraying will begin on the east side of the city.

Crews will fog the west side of Miami on the following day.

City administrators and health officials advise that residents help to diminish the mosquito population and reduce the risk of West Nile Virus by mosquito proofing their property.

They suggest the following:

Repair or install window and door screens.

Don't leave doors open, including garage doors, so mosquitoes cannot enter the home.

Drain standing water from buckets, cans, pool covers, flower pots and other items.

Throw away or cover up stored tires or other items that aren't being used.

Clean pet water bowls and birdbaths often.

Make sure rain gutters are not clogged.
