The Miami City Council will convene with the Miami Development Authority at 4 p.m. Monday in a special meeting regarding recommendations to bring new business to Miami.

Per an agenda posted Thursday at Miami City Hall, the council will hear recommendations of the MDA to purchase real property and enter into a real estate contract with Boat Floaters LLC.

Boat Floater Industries LLC, which manufactures boat lifts, has been listed with the secretary of state as a domestic limited liability company since 2003.

Additionally, the MDA is set to present a five-year economic development plan for the City of Miami.

The MDA will also discuss a recommendation to the city to submit a $99,000 rural business grant application to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and authorize the city manager to sign, on behalf of the city, all applications and assurances.

In another matter, the city is expected to act on a recommendation by the MDA to amend a deed restriction placed on the legal description of property conveyed by the City of Miami to Miami Nation Enterprises.
