An Ottawa County judge is recovering in a northwest Arkansas hospital from multiple injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident Saturday in southern Missouri.
Family members confirmed Monday that Associate Judge William “Bill” Culver, 51, is in intensive care in Bentonville, Ark., where he is improving, but is still on a ventilator.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Culver was traveling east on Missouri Highway 90, 10 miles east of Jane, Mo., when his 2000 Harley Davidson ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
The accident occurred between 3:30 and 4 p.m.
Culver was taken to the hospital and placed in a medically induced paralysis until the extent of his injuries could be determined.
Family members say broken ribs punctured Culver's diaphragm. He is expected to remain in ICU through today.
